On mac (OS 10.10.1 on my Macbook air), if we don’t have X11 installed or have the X11 directory under /usr/X11, then we will probably get the following error message:Įrror. rgl package needs X11 to show its 3D plots. I figure out why I can’t install R rgl package. ![]() ![]() I don’t know why we should return a list instead of a matrix in order to change class of variables to factor. Using apply() or sapply() will turn numerical variables into class character. Surprisingly I found that only lapply() works. Instead of doing each one at the time, I tried to use apply() family to do it all at once. Originally, the variables are all numeric, and I’d like to change some variables’ class into factor, such as cyl and vs. I was trying to convert multiple numeric variables in a data frame into factor variables in one step.
